Paul-André Rosental is a full professor at Sciences Po. He is an historian of biopolitics, and of the various topics it covers. He has created and leads the research team ESOPP, devoted to the interdisciplinary analysis of social, demographic and health policies. His latest books are Destins de l’eugénisme, Le Seuil, 2016, and Silicosis. A World History, Johns Hopkins University Press, 2017 (dir). His next book, forthcoming at Peter Lang, will be called Population, the state, and national grandeur. Demography as political science in modern France.

Paul-André Rosental has also conducted a dozen of thematic issues incl. “Health and Safety at Work. A Transnational History” (Journal of Modern European History, 2009, 2) and «From silicosis to silica hazards: an experiment in medicine, history and the social sciences», American Journal of Industrial Medicine, 58, S1, 2015. This volume is an output of his European Research Council Advanced Grant project, at the crossroads between natural and social sciences.
