Arto Anttila

Arto Anttila received his Ph.D. in linguistics from Stanford in 1998. He has held faculty positions at Boston University and New York University, and also spent a year as a postdoc at the National University of Singapore, before returning to Stanford.  His work combines theoretical linguistics with quantitative modeling of corpus data, especially in the domains of phonology, syntax, and metrics. In terms of languages, his interests include the structure of Finnish, English, and Dagaare, a tone language of northwestern Ghana.
