James Baldwin Essay Prize

Our 2024 James Baldwin Essay Prize for a research essay by an advanced Stanford PhD student in Humanities, Arts or Social Sciences goes to Wallace Teska for “French Medical Science and the Criminalization of Trials by Ordeal in Interwar Côte d’Ivoire.”

Louise Bourgeois Essay Prize

Our 2024 Louise Bourgeois Essay Prize for a research essay by a graduate student in Humanities, Arts or Social Sciences goes to Chloe Van Steertegem for “Camus and Balzac: The Self in the World.”

Josephine Baker Undergraduate Honors Thesis Prize
