Since Michel Espagne and Michael Werner's research on the topic, the richness and complexity of "cultural transfers" as a concept and method is no longer debated. The existence of a "laboratoire d'excellence" on this topic (le Labex Transfers), plethora of colloquia and works that integrate this expression in the title, and creation of collected works dedicated to cultural transfers by the University of Ottawa Press offer further evidence of its continuing importance.
